Tour de France leader Chris Froome on Saturday slammed the actions of a spectator after apparently having urine thrown at him during Stage 14.

"Unfortunately, someone threw a cup of urine into my face and shouted 'doper,' which is extremely wrong on so many different levels," Froome said.

"I was really disappointed; it's not in the name of sport."

The Team Sky rider extended his overall lead to just over three minutes on the day, but the 178-kilometer stage from Rodez to Mende was marred by the actions of a bystander.

There have already been examples of Team Sky members being attacked this year, with soft drink cans and punches reportedly thrown previously, but things took another turn with Froome claiming to be hit in the face by a cup of urine while in action.

The incident was also accompanied by loud allegations of doping being aimed at the Kenyan-born Brit, who unsurprisingly reacted angrily.
