Top 10 Dog Acts
Ben Flower loses the plot
Let's set the scene. Two minutes in to one of the biggest games in Flower's career, Wigan blow a great opportunity to score the opening try of the Super League grand final against St Helens. Clearly frustrated, the prop gets in a scuffle with Lance Hohaia which ends in one of the lowest acts in sports history and sees him become the first player to be sent off in the showpiece of English rugby league.

Barry Hall's punch on Brent Staker
Big Bad Barry was always known as a bit of a hot head on the footy field, but his reputation hit new lows after he knocked the West Coast player out in 2008. Hall was suspended for seven games, making global headlines in the process.

Kevin Muscat's tackle on Adrian Zahra
Throughout his career Muscat was loathed by opposition fans and loved by his own supporters for his physical style of play. It sometimes went too far though, and his tackle on the former Heart fullback in the Melbourne Derby will be remembered as the worst tackle in A-League history.

Marlon Samuels explodes at Shane Warne
Shane Warne has gotten under a lot of people's skin over the years. One of those is West Indian Marlon Samuels. During a Twenty20 Big Bash clash between the Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars in 2013, Warne threw the ball in Samuels' direction after cutting off a quick single. Samuels, who had angered Warne in the previous innings after holding back Stars batsman David Hussey to prevent a run, lost the plot and threw his bat at the spinner. Classic!

Dennis Rodman kicks a cameraman
The Chicago Bulls star was one of the most eccentric characters in the NBA when he was strutting his stuff during the late 1980s and 90s. In a game against the Timberwolves in 1997, he tripped over cameraman Eugene Amos and proceeded to do this...

That kick cost Rodman US$200,000 in settlement payments and saw him banned for 11 games without pay. All up, he lost over $1 million in just a few seconds of madness.

Eric Cantona channels his inner Bruce Lee on a fan
We all knew this was coming. The Manchester United legend was shown a red card after a challenge on Crystal Palace's Richard Shaw and when he was making his way off the field, he did something that would make headlines around the world.

Cantona was banned for nine months, and Palace fan Matthew Simmons had a story to take to his grave.

Eden Hazard lashes out at a ball boy
Not to be outdone by Cantona, the Belgian earned his spot on our list when he lashed out at a ball boy (yes, a ball boy) in a Carling Cup semi-final tie away to Swansea City. With time running out and the Blues in desperate need of a goal, ball boy Charlie Morgan (who incidently is the son of Swansea director Martin Morgan) decided to employ some time-wasting tactics. In response, Hazard decided to kick him. As you do...

David Nalbandian draws blood...from a linesman
Argentinians can be a fiery bunch, and the former tennis star is no exception. After winning the first set of the Queen's Club Championship final in 2012, things were going swimmingly for the former world number 3. That was until he lost his serve midway through the second set to hand Marin Cilic a 4-3 lead. It's safe to say Nalbandian was a bit angry with himself, and linesman Andrew McDougall felt the full force of that anger.

Needless to say Nalbandian was defaulted, handing Cilic what was possibly the easiest title of his career.

John Hopoate's fingers
Who will ever forget this? The former West Tigers man got a bit liberal with his fingers during a clash against the Cowboys in 2001. We will let this hilarious video do the talking...

A 12-week suspension and a swift end to his career at the Tigers was the result of all that. To this day you've got to wonder what the man was thinking.

James Graham has a nibble at Billy Slater
If you ask NRL fans who they think is the biggest pest in the league, many will inevitably say the Canterbury Bulldogs forward. Perhaps the most infamous incident in a long list of controversial moments during his career, Graham bit the ear of Storm star Billy Slater in 2012. The Englishman firmly denied any wrongdoing, but in a hearing lasting just 10 minutes he was slapped with a 12-match ban and was condemned by the wider league community.
