Blake Austin - Skill

Austin emerged from the shadows on Sunday afternoon in Wagga, scoring three tries and saving two others in a brilliant performance for the losing team.

He has thrown his name into NSW Origin calculations with that effort for the City team and stamped himself as one of the most destructive ball-running playmakers in the competition.

Scott Higginbotham - Strength

In an amazing upset victory by last season’s wooden spooners, the Melbourne Rebels, over this season’s powerhouse, the Waikato Chiefs, Higginbotham crossed for his 29th career try to equal the record for most tries for a forward.

Higginbotham’s career has been littered with powerful, tackle busting tries that have showcased his roar strength, on this occasion he looked more like a winger, stretching out and planting the ball in the corner.

Higginbotham’s incredible try-scoring ability and strength lands him a nomination for Performance of the Week.

James Kelly – Mental Toughness

Geelong’s James Kelly continues to show the most impressive mental toughness in Australia as he battles to recover for a ruptured testicle sustained in his team’s narrow victory over Richmond on the weekend.

The thoughts and prayers of a nation are with 31-year-old Kelly as he recovers from the empathy inspiring injury.

Doctors made the decision to surgically repair his testicle and Kelly now faces an uncertain wait.

Brad Hogg – Endurance

Old man Brad Hogg just keeps on performing!

The 44-year-old was once again at his destructive best against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.

He removed Indian strike weapon Shikar Dhawan and Aussie middle-order batsman Moises Henriques to seal victory for his Kolkata Knight Riders.

We’re looking forward to hearing of more Hogg heroics in years to come.
