It is one of the most anticipated bouts in boxing history, but if Freddie Roach's suspicions are correct then Floyd Mayweather Jr may not even turn up for his superfight with Manny Pacquiao.

Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, has been surprised by Mayweather's "subdued" nature in the build-up to the fight in Las Vegas and claims to have serious concerns over whether the 38-year-old will get in the ring.

He said: "I really am wondering if he's going to turn up on the night.

"I don't think any fighter is afraid but I don't think he wanted this fight. He was forced into a fight he didn't want to take.

"I just don't know why Floyd has gone quiet for this fight. His speech is very subdued."

Naturally, Mayweather rejected Roach's claims, insisting: "I'll be there.

"I talked trash in the past but this fight sells itself, so I don't have to."
