Elsewhere on Friday, Eastern Conference top seeds Washington took a 2-0 lead in their series against the New York Rangers thanks to a 2-0 win at home.

Jason Chimera and Jason Arnott did the scoring for Washington, while goaltender Michael Neuvirth made 22 saves to lift his side to the win.

Reigning Stanley Cup champions Chicago look to be on their way out of the playoffs after slumping to a 4-3 loss in Vancouver against the Canucks - leaving them 2-0 down in their Western Conference series.

Jannik Hansen and Alexander Edler were the other scorers for the Canucks, while Ben Smith (two) and Vikto Stalberg netted for the Blackhawks.

And the Anaheim Ducks levelled their series against Nashville at 1-1 thanks to a 5-3 win at home.
