She has worn the blue of Samoa, and the pink of the All Stars team, but could Northern Mystics shooter Cathrine Latu wear the black uniform of the Silver Ferns?

The answer so far seems like a resounding yes as Latu was named in the New Zealand squad for the upcoming Netball World Championships in Singapore.

Latu, who has been in sizzling form for the Northern Mystics in this year's ANZ Championship, has played for Samoa and is technically ineligible to play for another international side.

The case has been put forward by Netball New Zealand to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and is currently being assessed.

She has been cleared, however, to appear for New Zealand in their two test series against Australia in Palmerston North and Auckland.

That two test series is likely to be used as a trial for their starting combinations at the world championships.

The Silver Ferns squad for the Netball World Championships is:Leana de Bruin, Temepara George (vice-captain), Katrina Grant, Paula Griffin, Joline Henry - subject to medical clearance, Laura Langman, Liana Leota, Cathrine Latu (subject to availability), Anna Scarlett, Maria Tutaia, Irene van Dyk, Casey Williams (captain).
