Afterwards, the 9-0 Holm told waiting media it wasn’t just a ploy to win over fans, but something she really enjoys doing.
“You know what, she was awesome. How do you not have someone like that come up there with you?” she said.
“This is how it started. In LA everyone was wondering what I was going to do because I was there before my coaches. So I was just shadowboxing and jumping rope and there were some fans in there who were really excited and yelling out ‘throw a superman punch’ and all that.
“It was fun them telling me what to do and it was way more fun than just training by myself, so now I’m like ‘I’m always going to involve the fans.’
“If they’re going to come out just to watch us work out I wanna be involved with them.”
Holm is the heavy underdog going into her bout with Rousey, but isn’t without a massive amount of support from the Aussie crowd.
“I have quite a few friends from Australia, I love this place and I love the people here,” she continued.
“I love the support I’m getting, but I’m not surprised because you guys are awesome.
“I’m not surprised with how awesome you’ve been, but I will take all the extra desire for me to do well and come out on top. I appreciate that 100%.
“I feel like (Australia) could be a second home. I’ve been out here before on vacation. It’s far away and it’s a new experience but it’s awesome.”
