Broncos announcer gets Hayne's name wrong

More: 49ers get the flag wrong

After sitting on the sidelines for the first half, Jarryd Hayne got into the game in the third quarter, lining up for a punt-return.

As he ran out, the announcer at Mile High Stadium introduced “Jermaine Hyde” to the game, before correcting himself.

The slip-up is understandable with 49ers defensive back Jermaine Whitehead also wearing Hayne’s No. 38 jersey.

Hayne – the real Hayne – was solid without reaching the same lofty heights as his first two outings as a 49er.

He didn’t make any yards on two rushes, but made 12-yards on a punt return and took a good catch for an 18-yard gain and a first down after being introduced to the game in the third quarter.

After the match, coach Jim Tomsula said he still hadn't made a decision on Hayne's selection.

"He's put himself into the conversation, I don't want to sit here and make statements and things like that today, but he's definitely got himself into the conversation," he said.

"Obviously special teams value plays very high when you start talking about those spots."
