Anthony Mundine to fight Charles Hatley

Anthony Mundine

Team Mundine announced the bout at a press conference on Tuesday, with the WBC Silver title on the line against the 25-1-1 Hatley.

The fight, to be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre, will take place four days before before UFC 193 at Etihad Stadium.

With Ronda Rousey on the UFC card, there is guaranteed to be a huge fight crowd in the city already, some of which could spill over to Mundine's fight.

It will be the former NRL star's first fight since beating Sergey Rabchenko last November. He was scheduled to fight classy American Austin Trout earlier this year but was forced to pull out with an ear infection.

Negotiations to reschedule the fight then fell through.

Hatley is the 32nd ranked super-welterweight in the world, while Mundine is 16th.

From Dallas, Texas, Hatley has won his last six fights since being knocked out by American Lanardo Tyner in 2012.
