The Pittsburgh Penguins have scored three goals in the last eight minutes to come from behind to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 in NHL.
Toronto looked on track for victory at home late in the third period but a double from Pascal Dupuis and Craig Adams' short-handed goal with 10 seconds remaining saw the Penguins extend their winning streak to seven matches.
The Maple Leafs entered Thursday's clash on a three-game losing run but after Tyler Bozak's second-period goal the home side would have been excused of thinking of breaking their run of outs.
A late blitz from Pittsburgh turned the game around, however, with Dupuis finishing off good lead-up work from Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz in the 13th and 18th minutes of the final stanza to put the visitors in front.
And Adams slotted the puck into an empty net just before the end, as Toronto chased a late equaliser, to round out the quick-fire comeback.
Pittsburgh moved nine points clear at the top of the Atlantic division with their win in Toronto.
The Vancouver Canucks held off a third-period comeback from the Nashville Predators to win 7-4 and stay clear at the top of the Northwest Division.
Nashville trailed 5-2 at the end of the second period before third-period goals from Mike Fisher and Gabriel Bourque gave the visitors in Vancouver a sniff of victory with just over four minutes remaining.
But Vancouver put the game to bed late on with Henrik Sedin and David Booth's goals wrapping up the win, which keeps them two points ahead of the Minnesota Wild in the Northwest.
The Minnesota Wild would have joined Vancouver at the top of the division if the Canucks had lost, after defeating the Colorado Avalanche 5-3, while the Boston Bruins won 4-1 against the Florida Panthers and the San Jose Sharks triumphed 4-3 over the Los Angeles Kings.
The Chicago Blackhawks and the Anaheim Ducks both triumphed in shoot-outs after their games on Thursday finished 1-1 after overtime, knocking off the Columbus Blue Jackets and Dallas Stars respectively.
In other results, the St Louis Blues defeated the Phoenix Coyotes 3-0, the Winnipeg Jets overcame the New York Rangers 3-1, the New York Islanders triumphed 2-0 against the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Washington Nationals claimed a 3-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.
