Sydney FC:
1. Clint Bolton - 8 - Bolton's final game for Sydney was one to remember as he produced a fine penalty save in the shootout to secure the Sky Blues victory. He also produced a couple of good saves in the first 90 minutes.

2. Sebastian Ryall - 6 - Wasn't too bad but made a few silly errors and gave away silly fouls. Unspectacular and steady

3. Stephan Keller - 6 - Much like Ryall, did what he did with a minimum of fuss. His cause was helped when Thompson went off injured.

4. Simon Colosimo - 9 - A tower of strength at the back. It was another fine game from the A-League's best defender this season.

5. Hayden Foxe - 5 - Did little in his 15 minutes on the field, but did score a penalty in the shootout.

6. Karol Kisel - 6 - Flitted in and out without making a massive impact

8. Stuart Musialik - 7 - Was solid, but typically unspectacular. Did his job reasonably well but would have liked to be on the ball more.

12. Shannon Cole - 4 - Did very little in his time on the field and missed a penalty in the shootout.

14. Alex Brosque - 7 – Didn't have the influence he would have hoped for but did create Sydney's best chances including the build-up to the Mark Bridge goal

15. Terry McFlynn (C) - 7 - Was hard at it all evening and constantly disrupted Melbourne's attacking flow, which was his job. A great match as stand-in skipper.

16. Chris Payne - 3 - Had little or no impact and spurned an excellent chance to seal the game for Sydney when the score was at 1-0.

19. Mark Bridge - 7 - The goal rescued what would have been an otherwise unremarkable day for Bridge.

22. Sung-Hwan Byun - 7 - Worked super hard and created plenty going forward while also doing his job in defence. A very under-rated player, he will be remembered as the player whose penalty won the title for Sydney.

31. Joe Gibbs - 3 - Who? Had four minutes on the field and that was about it.

Melbourne Victory:

1. Mitchell Langerak - 8 - Showed no sings of inexperience despite the pressure situation. Effected two or three excellent saves and was in no means responsible for the Sydney goal which took a deflection over his head. Produced a great save in extra time and then kept out Shannon Cole with an equally spectacular effort in the shootout.

2. Kevin Muscat - 7 - Was typically strong for much of the game and provided all the leadership qualities we have become accustomed to. Perhaps ran out of legs late in the game and then, amazingly, missed a penalty in the shootout.

5. Surat Sukha - 6 - Was close to Melbourne's best player in the first half, with his industrious runs from defence and strong tackling. Departed in the second half after looking a little leg weary

6. Leigh Broxham -7 - Tried his heart out throughout the 120 minutes and while he sometimes turns the ball over, his work with the dead ball was very good. He improved as the match went on

8. Grant Brebner - 8 - One of his best games for Melbourne as he bossed the
