But it appears that infighting off the field is a much worse crime than embarrassing the national team and bringing the image of the game into disrepute. It's a stunning outcome from a tour where Pakistan was never expected to be competitive anyway and actually performed above expectations in the Test series.
The PCB should be measuring its strength by its ability to make peace between warring factions, rather than it ability to hand out wildly excessive punishments. If prodigious talents like Mohammed Yousuf and Younus Khan are lost to the game because of politics, it will be a tragedy not only for Pakistan, but international cricket as a whole.
