Moimoi raring to go

03/12/2010 12:45:03 AM

Damaging Parramatta forward Fuifui Moimoi is set to take his frustration at being benched out on the Dragons as the NRL season gears up for an explosive start at Parramatta Stadium on Friday night.

Moimoi was arguably the most destructive forward in the game at the back-end of last season as Parramatta made a surprise run to the grand final.

But coach Daniel Anderson has decided to hold back the popular cult figure in the season opener, preferring new signing Justin Poore and Nathan Cayless as his starting front-rowers.

"I suppose there's going to be a few fireworks from Fui (when he gets on)," Cayless said.

"He would like to start like everyone, (but) it's all about the team these days."

"He's already said to everyone on the team it's about doing the best for the team."

Meanwhile, St George Illawarra captain Ben Hornby remains in doubt for the match as he battles to overcome an infected wisdom tooth.

Nathan Fien will shift from hooker to half if Hornby is ruled out, with veteran Luke Priddis taking over at No.9.

Krisnan Inu is likely to drop off Parramatta's five-man bench.

Parramatta star Jarryd Hayne says both teams have plenty to prove despite one making the grand final (Eels) and the other winning the minor premiership (Dragons) last year.

"They're a great team and, a bit like us, they've got a lot to prove as well," Hayne said of the Saints.

"They had a disappointing end to their season, so they're going to be just as hungry as we are."

Cayless warned his side against expecting to pick up where they left off in '09.

"We've been through some periods where we've had a lot of expectation on us at the start of the season and some seasons we haven't handled that particularly well," he conceded.

"There has been a lot of media and a lot of hype about our team."
