Joyous right for Plate

Concerns over the fitness of Cox Plate second favourite More Joyous have been allayed after the mare passed a veterinary examination on Monday.
More Joyous' owner John Singleton and trainer Gai Waterhouse had asked a vet to run their eye over the four-year-old, who has won here last eight races and is considered the main threat to ruling favourite So You Think.
Singleton said he wanted to make sure everything was right with More Joyous ahead of what looms as the biggest challenge of her short career at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
The vet found no abnormalities and Waterhouse will continue to prepare More Joyous for Saturday's $3m Cox Plate. That will include a gallop at Flemington on Tuesday, away from the spotlight at Breakfast with the Stars at Moonee Valley, where So You Think will be having his final hit out.
Markets for the Cox Plate have So You Think at $1.50 and More Joyous the second pick at $7.
