Full Tilt Poker Academy Goes Live

Full Tilt Poker brought their online Poker Academy training site to the live stage during last months Aussie Millions at Melbourne’s own Crown Casino. The Full Tilt Poker Academy seminar was the first of its type in the world and the first time that Full Tilt Poker had made the transition from the online Academy to the live stage. Held on the morning of the Aussie Millions Main Event Day1a, over a hundred invited guests were treated to live presentations from some of the world’s greatest poker minds.
Speaking with a representative of the Academy he informed me that the live seminar was focussed on using the live stage to showcase what the online Poker Academy can really do for amateur and pro players alike to improve their game. The online Poker Academy is the brain child of Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer and offers Full Tilt Poker members the opportunity to log on and complete different modules and watch videos from Full Tilt Poker Pros on different subjects going in depth to show different strategies and theories.
The seminar was opened by Team Full Tilt Poker member Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson, welcoming every body and giving the mission statement for the Full Tilt Poker Academy. Emceed by Full Tilt Poker’s newest ‘Friend of Full Tilt’ and Aussie Millions host, Paul Khoury, the stage was set for an informative and fun morning. The panel of Full Tilt Pros included Gus Hansen, Chris Ferguson, Perry Friedman and Australia’s own Mark Vos and Billy Argyros.
Hansen was the first to kick off proceedings talking about ‘Multi Table Strategy’ and giving examples from his previous tournaments and showing where you can go wrong in different situations. Vos was next and gave a presentation on ‘Playing The Big Stack’ which involved Vos basically giving examples of the pitfalls of playing the big stack which he drew examples from his own experiences. Perry Friedman known for his antics on the American poker scene created some laughter with his presentation which was very informative on ‘Small Ball Poker’. Australia’s own Billy ‘The Croc’ Argyros was last to speak but was certainly one of the highlights of the seminar. Using his quick whit and tongue-in-cheek style he gave a very funny presentation on ‘Table Talk’. The seminar wrapped up with the panel answering some questions from the audience which were met with a thunderous applause from the audience.
I am looking forward to the next Full Tilt Poker Academy. In the mean time get all the experience and knowledge you need at the online version of the Academy at www.fulltiltpokeracademy.com.
