Richmond star Brett Deledio will miss the start of the NAB Cup after being diagnosed with a hamstring injury.
Deledio hobbled from the field during the opening period of a 60-minute intra-club hitout on Friday, with the club initially indicating the problem was back spasms.
But scans on Saturday revealed Deledio picked up some minor damage to his hamstring and is expected to be on the sidelines for at least two weeks.
The club is hopeful that the 24-year-old will be available for the latter stages of the NAB Cup.
Richmond opens their NAB Cup campaign against North Melbourne and Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium on Friday.
