Williams are not worried by their financial results for 2014, despite recording a loss of £42.5million for that period.

The team finished ninth in Formula One in 2013, their lowest finish in history, which meant to a reduction in prize and sponsorship funds.

Williams showed vast improvement last year and finished third, recording profits of £11.9m.

Despite the figures published on Monday, Williams chief executive Mike O'Driscoll insists they were not unexpected.

"While 2014 at first glance was disappointing, it really was what we anticipated. We're on track," he said.

"What we are reporting today is essentially a hangover. We expect 2015 to be materially, significantly, better than 2014."
