The British constructor have not tasted glory since the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix, when Pastor Maldonado turned pole position into victory in Barcelona.

A woeful 2013 campaign saw the team collect just two top-10 finishes, but Williams were able to finish third in this year's constructors' championship after Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa made the podium on nine occasions between them.

Deputy team principal Claire Williams described their work in 2014 as an "amazing transformation", and is now targeting greater success.

"I think it's very clear where we want to be next year and that's winning races," Williams told Crash.net.

"The guys know in engineering and the rest of the factory the job they've got to do in order to achieve that.

"I think we've shown that we've closed the gap to Mercedes over the second half of this season, so I don't see why we can't close it [further].

"But it's all about what your competitors are doing.

"We don't know where Ferrari are going to be, we don't know where Red Bull are going to be, we don't know what's going to happen with the engine regulations

"So it's all slightly up in the air at the moment but that's part of the excitement of Formula One."

The F1 season restarts in March with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
