Verstappen not worried by Toro Rosso line-up

Carlos Sainz was named as the 17-year-old's team-mate for the next campaign, meaning the Italian manufacturer will have two rookie drivers on board their cars.

Toro Rosso had originally hoped Daniil Kvyat would stay with the team, but the Russian was promoted to Red Bull after Sebastian Vettel left for Ferrari, leading to Sainz's unveiling.

However, Verstappen does not believe that will cause any problems at Red Bull's junior team and says he was not bothered who lined-up alongside him.

"At the end, it's not so important who your team mate is, as you have to rely only on yourself," he told Crash.net.

"The job is always hard, there is so much to learn and you have to use all your concentration in order to get the best out of the car and of yourself."

The young duo were selected ahead of the more experienced Jean-Eric Vergne, despite the Frenchman performing well this season and his future in F1 remains uncertain.
