Travis Kvapil team forced to withdraw from Atlanta race after racecar stolen

The Team  racing team went to sleep at a Morrow, Ga., hotel Thursday night thinking all was well ahead of Sunday's race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. But upon waking up Friday morning the team discovered the truck and a trailer carrying racecar were gone.

Reed Sorenson finished 32nd in last Sunday’s Daytona 500 driven in the No. 44 car, but Travis Kvapil is scheduled to race the Sprint Cup in Atlanta.

KFVS reported the trailer is white and unmarked. Kvapil tweeted the truck is a black Ford dually. Police are reportedly looking for the truck and trailer.

According to ESPN.com, the theft will force the team to withdraw from the race.
