Vettel won 13 races in 2013 to take the driver's title by 165 points from his nearest rival , Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, in turn levelling the record of Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher of four consecutive world titles.

The new season will see engine changes for all teams, the previously used V8 engines will be replaced by a turbocharged V6 with incorporated energy recovery systems.

And the 26-year-old believes that change will have the biggest impact on the sport, but remains confident Red Bull will adapt to ensure he challenges.

"We all know by now that there will be massive changes and the biggest change for me is the engine," he told the official F1 website.

"Everything else will be usual stuff, but in regards to the engine it will be an incredibly big challenge for the drivers.

"Imagine having only 100 kilos of fuel available for a race.

"That might require looking for completely different techniques that allow you to go as quick as normal but also save fuel.

"You have to adapt to this new situation - and find the best way to go as fast as possible to the chequered flag."
