Sebastian Vettel eyes fourth title in Delhi

The German has won each of the previous two Indian Grands Prix at the Buddh International Circuit, after finishing on pole, and a third would put him among the all-time greats in Formula One.

Only two other drivers have ever won four championships in a row, Juan Manuel Fangio and Vettel's countryman Michael Schumacher, who then went on to win a fifth consecutive title.

After winning the last five races, Vettel is 90 points ahead of Alonso with 100 up for grabs and can guarantee the title with a top-five finish in India.

Despite being the overwhelming favourite to top the standings, Vettel insists he is taking nothing for granted.

"It is not an easy track, because of a few complicated rhythm-breakers that are in there," he said.

"The most difficult part is the uphill entry to Turn 3, because seeing the apex is practically impossible. So to drive a perfect lap around the Buddh circuit, you need a good driving instinct.

"So far everything has always gone perfectly for us in India. There is also a very nice trophy at the end of the race - so it would be great to hold one again this year."

The Constructors’ Championship could also be wrapped up on Sunday. Red Bull currently top the standings on 445 points, 148 ahead of Ferrari with 172 points yet to be claimed.
