Nico Rosberg says that the German Grand Prix's absence from the 2015 Formula One calendar "feels wrong".

The race was dropped last week following a failure to reach an agreement over a venue.

Mercedes driver Rosberg told Sky Sports News: "It feels wrong to have a Formula One World Championship without the German GP.

"The German GP is just legendary. It's very strange and very surprising. It's disappointing."

Hockenheim and the Nurburgring had alternated hosting duties since 2008, with the latter scheduled to stage the event this year. However, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone could not reach an agreement with the bosses of either circuit.

Germany has staged a GP annually since 1956.
