Rain postpones Toyota Owners 400

Richmond International Speedway - Cropped

NASCAR has moved the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway to Sunday at 13:00 ET (17:00 GMT), after Saturday's scheduled start was washed out.

Organisers may have to also delay the start of the race on Sunday, with more rain predicted to fall in Virginia.

Joey Logano will start from pole position, while Denny Hamlin, who won the Xfinity Series ToyotaCare 250 on Friday, will join him on row one.

It is the second straight NASCAR race where the elements have affected proceedings.

Drivers had to wait through more than four hours of rain delays in Bristol, Tennessee, before the Food City 500 was completed on April 19.

Matt Kenseth took the chequered flag almost 10 hours after the race was scheduled to begin.

Team Penske's Logano (284 points) is behind only Stewart-Haas Racing's Kevin Harvick (314) in the championship standings.
