Perez searching for consistency

The Mexican wants more despite registering a podium in Bahrain and five finishes in the points since moving to the Silverstone-based team at the beginning of the campaign.

A disappointing British Grand Prix saw Perez finish in 11th and miss out on the chance to climb into the top 10 of the drivers' standings.

He hopes this weekend's German Grand Prix will be the start of some improvements in his reliability to try and close the 35-point gap on team-mate Nico Hulkenberg.

"Overall it's been very positive," said the 24-year-old. "I already have some great memories to look back on and some special results, especially the podium.

"There have been some difficult races, but the overall balance is positive.

"I would like to have scored more points, but there have been several factors that have prevented me from having a bigger total.

"The important thing will be to keep improving in the second part of the season."

Perez will look to replicate his previous two visits to Germany, where he has finished in the top eight.
