No hangover for Rosberg ahead of new season

Nico Rosberg will not allow his defeat to Lewis Hamilton in the 2014 Formula One drivers' championship to affect him when the new season begins in March.

The German was in contention to win his first title going into the final race in Abu Dhabi, but Hamilton's victory saw the Brit crowned world champion for a second time.

Having watched his Mercedes team-mate celebrate, Rosberg admitted it was tough to take, but he is raring to go in 2015.

The drivers return to testing next month ahead of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne and Rosberg cannot wait to get back in the car.

"Thankfully it [the hurt] goes pretty quickly, it takes a few days and I get over it," he told Sky Sports.

"In this case that was great, when it is successful it is not so great as you want to enjoy the moment longer, but it is quite short lived always.

"For me it was a new experience and I didn't know how it would be, but it has been easy to switch off because it is not all about racing in the end.

"The biggest challenge first of all is to be my best – that is the first and most important challenge for me – and to be better than ever.

"Then the second challenge is going to be first of all trying to beat Lewis and then further more trying to beat all the other teams – we have no idea where we stand so we need to wait and see where we are."
