Kyle Larson remains hospitalized at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in Charlotte, N.C., after fainting at an autograph signing at Martinsville Speedway Saturday afternoon.

Doctors have performed tests and evaluated his condition for the past two days. Chip Ganassi Racing said it was hopeful Larson, the 2014 NASCAR Rookie of the Year, would be released Monday evening after doctors performed multiple evaluations in trying to diagnose what caused him to faint.

However, Larson remains hospitalized until at least Tuesday, The Charlotte Observer's Jim Utter reported.

Larson fainted and had to be transported to Martinsville Memorial Hospital to be evaluated by a neurologist. One was not available and Larson was transported to CMC in Charlotte to be evaluated.

Larson has three top-10 finishes this season at Atlanta, Las Vegas and Fontana. Because he participated in the Coors Light Pole Qualifying on Friday at Martinsville, Larson maintained Chase eligibility despite missing the race.
