The 2015 Formula One season may see a rebranded Marussia team on the grid after the financially troubled outfit reached an agreement with creditors to exit administration.

After switching to their original name of Manor, the Banbury-based constructor finalised a company voluntary agreement (CVA) on Thursday, taking them a step closer to an F1 return.

Geoff Rowley, joint administrator at FRP Advisory, said in a widely circulated statement: "We are pleased that the financial restructuring of the company has been progressed after creditor approval of the CVA.

"With new investment and a continuity of the respected management, the business has the ideal platform from which it can accelerate the operational rebuilding already underway to get a team back racing.

"We shall complete our statutory duties as administrators with the necessary filings needed in order to formally exit the company from administration over the next few days."

With the first grand prix of the year less than four weeks away, Manor would still be up against it if they are to make the opening race in Australia.

In order to compete in their 2014 car, the team must receive the unanimous backing of all other constructors - and they have already been knocked back on that front once - or else they must act quickly to build a new model that complies with this year's regulations.

Marussia's money woes saw them miss the final three races of the 2014 season after Russian backer Andrey Cheglakov withdrew his support.
