French driver Bianchi remains in intensive care at Mie General Hospital after suffering a serious head injury in a horrific crash in the Japanese Grand Prix last Sunday.

Reserve driver Rossi could be in line to start his first Formula One race in place of the stricken Bianchi after it was confirmed the American rookie is on the entry list for the inaugural race in Sochi on Sunday.

Marussia have yet to confirm whether they will enter two cars this weekend following Bianchi's accident in Suzuka, and Max Chilton could be their only driver in Russia.

Rossi, 23, competed in first practice in the Canadian and Belgium Grands Prix, but that is his only experience on the track during a race weekend.
