Marquez clocks 350kph in Qatar to set MotoGP record

Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez clocked the fastest recorded speed in MotoGP history by reaching 350kph in Sunday's season-opening race in Qatar.

The double defending world champion, who holds multiple MotoGP records including being the youngest rider to win the title, added another to his collection.

Marquez started third on the grid in Doha, but ran wide at the first corner and had to come from the back of the field to eventually finish fifth.

During his charge, the Spaniard was clocked at 350.3kph (217.66mph).
