A race car stolen from a NASCAR team in Georgia has been found by police.

Team Xtreme, who race in NASCAR's Sprint Cup series, were forced to withdraw from Sunday's race in Atlanta after discovering that the trailer and truck carrying driver Travis Kvapil's No. 44 car had been taken from near their hotel in Morrow  - 15 miles outside of Atlanta.

However, the team posted pictures of the car - valued at $250,000 - returned with no visible damage on Twitter, crediting Gwinnett County police with the discovery.

The team will return to Sprint Cup action at next weekend's race in Las Vegas.
