Perez - replaced by Kevin Magnussen at McLaren following an unsuccessful first season after joining from Sauber - will line-up alongside German Nico Hulkenberg for the new campaign.

The Mexican takes the seat of Scottish driver Paul di Resta, who is now without a team after a three-year stint with Force India.

Perez's switch sees Force India form a completely new driver line-up for next term, with Hulkenberg returning from Sauber for a second stint with the team to assume the place of Adrian Sutil.

And 23-year-old Perez insisted that Force India had been his favoured option.

"It's great to announce my new team as Sahara Force India," Perez said.

"Coming here was always my first choice and I'm really happy everything has now been confirmed.

"This is a young team with a lot of determination and they've produced competitive cars for the last few years.

"It's all change for next season with the new regulations, but I already have a good feeling about 2014."
