The Australian is the only non-Mercedes driver to win a race this season, with his triumph at the Hungaroring representing his second 25-point haul after topping the podium in Canada last month.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso came second to record his best result of what has been a disappointing season so far, while Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton produced a superb drive from the pit-lane to finish third.

The Briton overcame team orders and a late challenge from team-mate and title rival Nico Rosberg on the final lap, managing to gain three points over the German in the race for the drivers' championship.

With F1 taking a mid-season break, Hamilton will spend the next four weeks 11 points behind Rosberg before action resumes in Belgium.
