Caterham administrators will not fund testing

The perennial backmarkers endured financial troubles during the 2014 campaign and entered administration in October.

Caterham missed both the United States and Brazil grands prix as a result of their woes, although a fundraising effort from fans allowed them to compete in the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi.

With the 2015 calendar beginning in Australia in March, Caterham continue to seek a buyer to help them stay afloat.

Should one not present itself before testing begins in Jerez in February, the administrators have declared that funds will not be made available.

"Talks with interested parties continue, but if a buyer is not found before the test, we will not put up the money to go," joint-administrator Henry Shinners told BBC Sport.

"I wouldn't rule anything out but if we reach the first race in the same position, the chances of saving the team are virtually nil.

"We need to start moving in the next few weeks if a deal is going to get over the line."
