Valtteri Bottas will race with a new seat and pedal set-up at the Malaysia Grand Prix to prevent further complications with his back injury.

The Williams driver missed the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne after suffering soft-tissue damage in his lower back during qualifying, but has been passed fit for this weekend.

Bottas revealed he has made changes to his driving position for Sepang, and is confident that will ensure he does not suffer a relapse.

"It's good," he said about his back on Thursday.

"[There is] no pain, so that's nice.

"We have a really good idea [of the cause] so we have changed the seat and pedal position quite a reasonable amount, so the back is in a more neutral position in the car - so less pressure for the discs.

"We've done everything we can in this period [to recover] and luckily there was two weeks [in between races], I feel confident to go back into the car."
