Luis Garcia Abad - Fernando Alonso's agent - denied the Spaniard's crash in Formula One testing in Barcelona on Sunday was caused by dizziness.

Alonso was airlifted to hospital after the McLaren driver slammed into the inside wall on the exit of turn three at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

McLaren revealed via Twitter on Sunday that Alonso was fine and uninjured after a CT scan, with the dual F1 world champion to be kept in overnight for observation.

Abad later moved to quash speculation that his client was unwell prior to testing.

"He was admitted to hospital as a precaution. He had all the relevant tests and they all came back clean," Abad was quoted as saying by Marca.

"It was hitting the wall that caused everything else. He's in bed and is comfortable and relaxed. The circumstances were completely normal.

"We refute the idea that he felt unwell before the accident. The car locked, the wind was fierce and he just went into the wall.

"The car's telemetry system showed that he was veering from left to right and at a certain moment he just skidded off the edge. It was a normal F1 accident, basically."
