Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has said he can't wait to get back to Albert Park in March for the Australian Grand Prix.
Schumacher, who will be making his long-awaited comeback to the sport this year, spoke via a pre-recorded message at the launch of the 2010 Australian Grand Prix, saying that he had been looking forward to tackling Albert Park again as a driver.
"First of all I look forward to coming back to Australia to meet a couple of friends, especially Mick (Doohan) and the family and have a good time with him," Schumacher said.
"And then just enjoy the country because it's always lovely to be there."
"Last year I was there obviously in my advisor role and this year coming back as a race driver, so it will be interesting."
Schumacher's comeback and the additions of new teams makes this year's Formula One season one of the most-anticipated in some time and the 41-year-old is looking forward to the challenge.
"A new team, with my old friend Ross (Brawn), working together with him, riding in a Mercedes car, it's a good combination that causes great excitement," the four-time winner at Albert Park said.
"It's a German squad that obviously likes to compete against the Italian (and) English teams."
Off the track, Simple Minds and Powderfinger have been announced as the main music acts, while Pia Miller was confirmed as the Australian Grand Prix Ambassador.
The 2010 Australian Grand Prix is on from March 25 to 28 at Albert Park.
