Canterbury have secured the services of highly-rated prop Aiden Tolman for a further four years until the end of 2017.

The blond-haired front-rower made his NRL debut with Melbourne in 2008 before linking with the Bulldogs in 2011.

Tolman's decision to re-sign is a major boost for the Dogs and comes less than 24 hours after New Zealand back-rower Greg Eastwood also recommitted long term.

The 26-year-old, who has played two matches for Country Origin, is relieved to have signed a long-term deal to stay at Belmore.

"I've found a good home here at the Bulldogs and it's good to know that it is where I'll be for the next four years," Tolman said.

"I have a number of aspirations and goals that I'd love to achieve in this game and I believe that with the current structure here at the club I can go a long way to ticking those things off.

"I always said this next contract would be an important one for me and my family and I'm happy with the security I have around this deal."

Coach Des Hasler says Tolman is a major part of his plans over the next four-and-a-half seasons.

"Aiden is a part of our senior playing group and is a very valued member of our squad both on and off the field," Hasler said.

"He is someone who continuously works hard on his game and is looking to improve every week.

"Aiden is the consistent performer in this competition and I look forward to working with him in the future."
