Campese out in the cold
He was once a NSW State of Origin five-eighth who also guided and starred for the Canberra Raiders.

Now Terry Campese looks set to end his once-glittering career in embarrassing circumstances.

Super League sides Hull FC and Hull KR had shown interest in Campese, but both have now dropped off.

Campese finished last season playing NSW Cup and is now unwanted by the Raiders.

No-one, it seems, wants Campese.

Former Canberra coach David Furner might be having a quiet chuckle. Campese was in a rebel playing group which knifed Furner last year. I guess it's called karma.

Word around town
Gossip #1: YOU heard about Daly Cherry-Evans' new nickname at Manly? Yoko Ono....as in the person who split the Beatles.

Gossip #2: WHICH Sydney-based NRL club chief executive has a gambling problem which saw him lose an absolute bucket-load of cash at the races last week?

Gossip #3: WHICH two former team-mates almost came to blows recently? One former back called an ex-forward "soft". It didn't go down too well.

Hayne replacements imminent
Parramatta officials are promising to announce some new signings within the next few weeks. We hear there will be some interesting additions to an Eels squad still shaken at losing superstar Jarryd Hayne.

Barba going nowhere
Suggestions Ben Barba will end up at Cronulla are pure fantasy. Barba will stay at Brisbane. End of story.

Stewart starting early
Glenn Stewart has already been spotted at Redfern training for next season.

The key forward wants to be fit, fresh and ready to go when he turns out for the NRL premiers in 2015.

We keep hearing brother Brett will now remain at Brookvale, despite his anger at the shabby treatment of Glenn.
