A writer for the 49ers' official website described the scoring play from Hayne.

"The last touchdown in the red zone came from Dylan Thompson to running back Jarryd Hayne," Joe Fann described for 49ers.com.

"Hayne ran an inside slant out of the backfield and caught the ball in traffic. The 49ers rookie QB did well to split the defense and fit the ball into a tight window."

Sacramento Bee writer Matt Barrows also depicted the scoring play.

“Gabbert fired a short-range pass to him (Hayne) in the end zone and with several defenders around him. He came up with the reception for a touchdown," he wrote.

Fann also wrote that Hayne was one of only four players to get an opportunity returning kicks during the day, along with his friend Reggie Bush who first tempted the Hayne Plane to try to crack the NFL and is now his direct opposition for a roster position.

In further good news for Hayne, 49ers.com described him as the "Lebron James of Australia" and was turning San Francisco into "Australia's team".

However Hayne's training camp wasn't all good news, uncharacteristically dropping an easing catch early on.
