The Final Rev-Up: Burgess 'England's best player'

Sam Burgess

Writing for the RugbyAM website, blogger Mike Andrews declared Burgess England's best player and totally absolved him of blame for the Poms' three-point loss.

That's despite one noted English rugby writer describing the ex-Souths star as wandering around the field 'trying to be helpful'.

Andrews argued: "Why is it when there's a solid former league player in the side, they are used as the scapegoat for a practically full-strength side being unable to beat a side best described as the Welsh reserves?

"They had to blame someone, anyone, that wasn't as experienced as them. That someone was Sam Burgess.

"Let's forget the fact he was England's best player after only 112 minutes at international level; evidently putting to shame the rest of his teammates.

"Sam Burgess wasn't to blame for the defeat to the Welsh and the fact the media are so quick to blame him shows real cowardice."

Sounds like our man's really enjoying the World Cup.

Relay is where it's at

Forget about who's going to win Sunday's grand final.

The big question league fans around the world want to know is…who's going to take out the traditional grand final relay sprint?

The Final Rev-Up can reveal the four finalists are Cronulla, St George Illawarra, Manly and South Sydney.

The smart money, apparently, is on the Bunnies.

You heard it here first.
