The Warrington Wolves will parade the former Eels halfback to media and supporters on Monday afternoon (UK time) – at the same time the club is copping it in the neck following their surrender to Hull KR in Saturday’s Challenge Cup semi-final.

Wolves had high hopes of claiming a Wembley berth but were de-railed 26-18 by lowly Hull KR at Headingley, with Sandow watching from the stands.

One supporter wrote on the club’s Facebook page: “If we are being honest that was garbage, so much good field possession in the first half and couldn't capitalise on it, players didn't seem to know what to do and what their roles were.”

Another added: “We were disgraceful. And to see the players laughing and joking on the coach on the way home was despicable. Gutless the way we played today.

“My Monday wouldn't have needed brightening up if the team had actually turned up yesterday and put a bit of pride and passion into the performance. 5 hour round trip for that. I am not amused. “

The Wolves are sitting sixth in Super League and the arrival of Sandow could make or break their season.

The No.7 will be under the pump from the get-go, but it’s nothing he hasn’t experienced at Souths or Parramatta during an enigmatic career.
