Rovers return to winning ways as Vikings run riot

Hull KR claimed a surprise first Super League win of the season on Sunday, battling back from 14 points down to beat an off-colour Wigan Warriors 22-20.

Wigan looked set to bounce back from last week's last-gasp World Club Series loss at the hands of Brisbane Broncos when they responded to Ken Sio's early score with a try from Joe Burgess and then went over three more times in the space of five minutes either side of half-time.

However, Rovers refused to buckle and stormed back with 16 unanswered points to get off the mark in 2015.

Sio collected a pass from former Warrior Darrell Goulding to start the Rovers revival and Mitch Allgood also crossed before Kieran Dixon completed an impressive turnaround with his first try since joining from London Broncos in 2014.

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats coach James Webster labelled his side's performance as "disgraceful after they were thrashed 58-16 by Widnes Vikings in Sunday's other Super League fixture.

The Wildcats came into the match on the back of successive wins at the start of the campaign, but were blown away as Lloyd White claimed four of the Vikings' 10 tries.

Kevin Brown touched down on two occasions and had a hand in four other scores for Widnes, who were previously winless this year.
