Star centre Michael Jennings has signed a five-year deal with Penrith that ties him to the Panthers until 2015.

Twenty two-year-old Jennings has bagged 11 tries in 16 games this season including a splendid 90m try in Saturday's 34-28 loss to a Jarryd Hayne-inspired Parramatta.

CEO Michael Leary was delighted to have captured Jennings' signature.

"The club will always endeavour to provide long term opportunities to its local players and keep them as long as possible wherever possible," Leary said.

"Jennings is a player who has already shown at a young age what he is capable of. He is a gifted athlete who achieved representative status as a junior and has only just embarked on what will become a long term representative career at senior level."

Jennings, who played for Tonga at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup also has represented City Origin, NSW Origin and Australia.

With Jennings now signed, the Panthers will focus their attention on re-signing Kiwi Frank Pritchard and NSW Origin representative Michael Gordon.
