Jacob Miller has re-signed with English Super League club Wakefield until the end of 2017.

The former Wests Tigers half-back joined the Wildcats from Hull FC on a 12-month deal a year ago and has thrived under coach Brian Smith.

He is the Wildcats' first confirmed signing for next season as the club battles to secure their First Utility Super League status via the Super 8s Qualifiers.

"I have enjoyed myself so much, I could not be happier that I am staying at Wakefield for the next two years," Miller said.

"It has been a pretty tough season for us but our goal of remaining in the Super League is still alive.

"I would say that it has helped me grow as a person and as a player.

"I always want to keep learning and keep improving my game, and this will not change going into next season.

"My aim is to come out even better and stronger than I have done this year and play to my best ability."

The 23-year-old Australian played three seasons for the Tigers before linking with Hull in 2013.

He has scored 15 tries in 26 games this season.
