Broncos lose Hodges, McGuire

The Broncos have suffered a huge blow ahead of their encounter with the Rabbitohs in Brisbane on Friday, with news that Justin Hodges and Josh McGuire will not line up in the blockbuster clash.

Hodges has been battling a groin problem he picked up against the Wests Tigers last weekend, while McGuire has re-injured his calf.

Broncos coach Anthony Griffin said it was a big blow for his side to lose the important duo, but he has faith in the rest of his squad to step up in their absence.

"Justin just came up with a sore groin after last week," Griffin said.

"It is getting better all the time but it is not going to be ready for 80 minutes tomorrow night.

"Josh's calf has just flared up a bit."

Jordan Kahu will start in the centres in place of Hodges, while Jarrod Wallace has been included on the bench.
