Knights: Team Preview
Little movement up or down the F3 over the summer months, with the 2009 playing roster (minus Danny Wicks and Chris Houston) pretty much intact. Evarn Tuimavave comes over from the Warriors as the only new addition. It either speaks of stability or an inability to afford - or attract - big-name signings.
What has to go right: Kurt Gidley has to remain healthy for the entire year. He is almost as valuable to the Knights as Joey used to be.
What could go wrong: After Brian Smith's abrupt mid-season departure last year, affable Rick Stone was a breath of fresh air. But with a full pre-season behind him, the heat will be turned up on the NRL's least-experienced coach. Being a good bloke won't save him if the Knights' season starts to go down the toilet, of it hasn’t already.
Nightmare headline: Gidley wants out of troubled Knights
