Bulldogs: Team Preview

Unlike 2009 when the Dogs embarked on a shopping spree only matched by the David Jones Boxing Day sales, Todd Greenberg's cheque book spent most of the summer recovering in his top draw. Steve Turner, Dene Halatau and halves journeyman Blake Green head the new recruits. There is no El Magic and Greg Eastwood finally made it to England. They will again be competitive.

What has to go right: Brett Kimmorley arrived at the Dogs with a point to prove last year and enjoyed a stellar season. He will again give his all this season but is a year older and has been known to fall out with clubs - or vice-versa - when things go awry.

What could go wrong: Canterbury fans have long been used to four points automatically becoming six thanks to sharp-shooter Hazem El Masri. Michael Ennis is a fine kicker but they are massive boots to fill.
