The Warriors maintained their perfect pre-season record with an uninspiring 16-all draw against the Manly Sea Eagles at North Harbour Stadium on Saturday night.
Over 17,000 fans were entertained, if not enthralled, by the scrappy affair.
The highlight of the match came in the 23rd minute when a clash between two raging Kiwi bulls saw former Warriors, Panthers, Rabbitohs and Eels secondrower Joe Galuvao flattened and knocked out.
Young Warriors prop Russell Packer, with his first touch of the ball, charged at the Manly defensive line – headfirst – and the resulting clash had Galuvao stretched from the field.
"The only bad injury was Joe. He's got a severe concussion so he's got at least two or three weeks out, but we won't know until we get some scans done," Manly coach Des Hasler said post-match.
Michael Robertson grabbed a first-half brace as the visitors led 16-10, but it was the Warriors who finished stronger, as new prop Jeremy Latimore crashed over for the solitary try of the second spell with four minutes to play after the ball was shifted through four sets of hands.
With 14 days until the regular season kicks off, Warriors coach Ivan Clearly will be sweating on the fitness of last year's find of the season Kevin Locke.
The nippy fleet-footed 20-year-old winger hobbled from the field in the first half with what looked to be a lower-back injury after copping a knee while contesting a high ball.
Cleary - who admitted his side was light on quality finishers - won't know Locke's prognosis until Sunday, but on replacement Patrick Ah Van's performance he will be praying to the league gods he shapes up for the round one clash with the Titans in Robina.
"We haven't stopped looking for a wing, but haven't found one yet," Cleary said of the clubs plans to keep browsing the market.
At times the Warriors, without experienced players Steve Price, captain Simon Mannering and hooker Ian Henderson, lacked imagination and direction.
However, Clearly was rapt Brent Tate got through his first hit-out since sustaining a season-ending knee injury against the Broncos in round three last year.
"It was really good for him to tick that one off and it elevates a lot of doubt when you don't play for that long."
Another positive was the forward pack, which matched it with a highly-fancied and physical Sea Eagles unit.
"I feel like everyone's on the same page and working really hard for each other," Clearly said.
"I was really happy with the way the young props stepped up. It's going to be hard to make some selections with Pricey coming back, but that's a good thing."
While Hasler highlighted the views of fans, players and coaches alike.
"Pre-season is over now, so the next game it's on."
In Gosford Robbie Farah starred in his side’s easy 36-12 win over the Sharks.
Farah was everywhere for the Tigers as he crossed for two tries and had a hand in two more, more than making up for missing superstar Benji Marshall.
Robert Lui performed well for the Tigers in Marshall's absence.
The Sharks struggled to gel most of the night, with handling errors marring their first-half attacking forays.
The injury withdrawel of Paul Gallen prior to the match compounded an ordinary night for last season's strugglers.
