A premiership ring, a Test jumper and now a new two-year deal - it's been some month for destructive Manly back-rower Tony Williams.
The big T-Rex will depart on Australia's Four Nations campaign with an upgraded contract in his keeping, ensuring he will remain at the Sea Eagles until at least the end of the 2013 season.
Williams, who debuted in Australia's 42-6 thumping of New Zealand on Sunday, had been courted by a number of clubs before deciding to stay put at Brookvale.
It's some rare good news for the premiers, who have been rocked by controversy and the departures of Will Hopoate and Des Hasler (in 2013) since winning the grand final earlier this month.
"I’m really pleased to be re-signing with the Sea Eagles," Williams said on Monday.
"The last few months have been the best of my career and a lot of that comes back to the work I have been putting in under the guidance of the coaching staff at Manly and the support of my teammates."
"Winning a grand final and making my debut for Australia in the space of two weeks has been a dream come true."
"Signing the new contract before leaving for the Four Nations UK tour has lifted a bit of weight off my shoulders."
"It's an exciting time in my career and I'm really looking forward to getting back amongst the boys as we try to win back-to-back NRL titles next season."
For now Williams is keen for more game time in a Kangaroos jersey after a strong performance against the Kiwis in Newcastle.
The hard-running forward was used effectively off the bench by coach Tim Sheens and will play a key role in Australia's upcoming Four Nations campaign.
"It's a great feeling to be playing alongside players of this calibre at this level," Williams said.
"At 22, my best years are definitely still ahead of me and I'm confident the next six weeks are going to take my game to a new level."
